Brakes use friction to slow or stop your vehicle, a byproduct of that friction is that it naturally causes wear. Brake shoes, brake pads, calipers, brake rotors, and other braking components can all become worn or stop functioning correctly without proper regular maintenance.

If you begin to notice the tell-tale warning signs or if your brake service indicator light has come on, it is critical that you have them checked as soon as possible to avoid further dangers or major repairs that can be avoided. All vehicles should have their brake systems inspected regularly to ensure that there are no irregularities or issues that might sneak up on you. There are many factors in what constitutes Major Repairs and Services vs. Minor Repairs and Services. At the KC Auto Clinics we offer an expansive list of major and minor repairs, so no matter how big or small the issue, you can be confident that our reputable mechanics will provide the fix.

Major Repairs are services beyond general maintenance, minor part replacements, and tune-ups. Major repairs typically happen when removing, replacing, disassembling, repairing or rebuilding of the vehicles main operating components such as engine transmission, transfer case or differentials but also could be extensive electrical, repair heater core replacements and some various other repairs.

This is regular maintenance that the vehicle manufacturer suggests based on the vehicle you own. Maintenance does vary a little per vehicle so it’s best to check with the maintenance recommendations in your manual but we have a suggested “general” maintenance lists that starts with either changing oil with synthetic blend at every 4000 and if it’s full synthetic then every 6000 tires are recommended to rotate around every 5,000 miles.

If your vehicle has a timing belt we suggest around 75,000 miles with a transmission fluid exchange and around 100k miles we like recommend a day at the spa and to get refreshed with a tune up fuel service, differential services if applicable and an overall thorough check to see if anything is going to be needed at that time or in the near future.

Near 150k we suggest brake fluid and coolant services We don’t have any intervals on changing the engine or cabin air filter or belts/hoses we do look at those when we change oil and replace and suggest replace as needed not just because.
